About

Anka is a stay-at-home mom who forfeited using her degree in Literary Journalism so she can raise her two kids. She has a seven year old daughter, a three year old son, and, a husband of eighteen years. She also has a betta fish and crusted gecko who help substantiate her position on why there’s no need for a real family pet. She records her journey because sometimes life is stranger than fiction. Sort of like parenting which can be downright crazy. It’s doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Even so, the chaos is comforting. There is no other position she’d rather hold in life than mom.

    • I actually did earn my degree in 2008 but decided not to pursue my career because it was more important to raise my kids. I am choosing to enjoy the season I’m in. Perhaps there will be an opportune time for me to work professionally but for now I get paid in hugs and kisses. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Always love to give kudos to those who invest in the future! Nothing compares to raising children while we can — they are off to their own grown-up adventures before we roll over for one more snooze on the alarm! Those hugs & kisses are worth more than any deposit in the bank. Treasure the days!

    • Being a stay-at-home mom can sometimes feel like a thankless job. But then I quickly realize that it’s delayed gratification, I try to convince myself that I’ll see a return on my investment in the future. Thanks for the encouragement!
